America's first large public library: the children's library on the second floor of the newer Johnson Building has a play area, big windows, a huge picture book collection, and lots of story times; afterward walk your kid into the old McKim Building to see the murals, climb the grand staircase, and sit by the fountain in the Italianate courtyard.
