A small, well-done nature museum in Lincoln Park: thousands of butterflies flutter around the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven greenhouse and land on kids' hats, and Nature's Playspace is a water and cave play area for kids under 6; an hour or two is just right.

💡 Tips
Admission is about $17/adult, $10/child (check the website), free for Illinois residents on Thursdays. Walk slowly in the butterfly haven and no swatting. Pair it with the zoo and Oz Park for a day.
