A 1926 landmark with a pyramid-topped tower; the rotunda ceiling and murals just inside keep big kids staring upward, and the second-floor children's literature department has a huge collection of picture books, kids' book displays, and year-round storytimes and crafts.

💡 Tips
Easiest is the A Line straight from Arcadia to 7th St/Metro Center, with Angels Flight and Grand Central Market on the way. Free architecture tours on Saturdays, good for ages 6 and up.
