The one from Night at the Museum: the dinosaur halls on the fourth floor, the 94-foot blue whale hanging from the ocean hall ceiling, rooms of lifelike animal dioramas, and the insectarium and butterfly vivarium in the new Gilder Center; 2-year-olds and 10-year-olds each find their favorites.

💡 Tips
Pay-what-you-wish for New York State residents (buy on site); timed tickets online are about $28 per adult. Get in right at the 10am weekend opening, do the dinosaurs first and then the blue whale. The entrance is inside the 81 St subway station.
