The last old-growth forest on Manhattan island: dirt trails pass through centuries-old tulip trees, the boulder where legend says the Lenape traded Manhattan, and glacial caves, while the foot of the hill has a salt marsh with egrets and a new playground.

💡 Tips
The forest trails are steep with steps, so carry little ones; the paved path by the marsh and the playground are fine with a stroller. Urban Park Rangers lead free walks on weekends.
