Every September through November, thousands of Chinook and coho salmon return from the sea to Issaquah Creek, crowding the hatchery's fish ladder and underwater viewing windows while volunteers on the bank teach kids to identify them; the fry ponds are open the rest of the year too.

💡 Tips
The first weekend in October is the Salmon Days festival, lively but with the whole town's streets closed; for a quieter visit pick another October weekend. Walk to Front St afterward for ice cream.
