Máximo the titanosaur stretches 122 feet from nose to tail across the main hall, and Sue, the most complete T. rex, is upstairs; the Crown Family PlayLab is just for ages 2–6, with dinosaur bones to dig and scientist dress-up. A seven-year-old walks the history of the planet in Evolving Planet, while a two-year-old is done after an hour in the PlayLab.

💡 Tips
Basic admission is about $30/adult, $23/child (check the website), and Illinois residents get free days; the PlayLab has limited open days and time slots, so check first. The Adler Planetarium and Shedd are a 5-minute walk, but don't try two big museums in one day.
