One of the largest public libraries in the country; the Thomas Hughes Children's Library on the second floor has a whole floor of picture books, interactive exhibits, and story times, then take the elevator to the ninth-floor Winter Garden, a glass-domed hall where kids run on the marble floor while grown-ups take in the view.

💡 Tips
Easiest by the L, with several lines stopping beside the building. Open Sunday afternoons too. Pair it with Maggie Daley and Millennium Park, ducking in to escape rain or heat.
