Lombard calls itself the Lilac Village, and in early May more than 700 lilacs and over 20,000 tulips bloom together in this 8.5-acre park until the whole place smells sweet; paved paths are just right for a stroller, and the Lilac Time festival Sunday brings a parade and food stands.

💡 Tips
Peak bloom is roughly the first to second week of May, with updates on the Lombard Park District website. Festival weekends are crowded, so go in the morning; it's free normally, with a small admission sometimes charged during the festival (check the website).
