An old amusement park open since 1959, built for ages 2–10: dozens of rides little kids can go on, a small zoo with goats and parrots, a summer water park, and a train around the grounds, none of it as scary as Six Flags — a summer ritual for northwest-suburb families.

Open daily from late May to early September and weekends in spring and fall (check the website); admission is around $30, free under 2, and cheaper online. Bring swimsuits for the water park; it thins out after 3pm.
