The largest and oldest zoo in Texas, 106 acres: the giraffe feeding platform in Giants of the Savanna is the highlight for a 2-year-old, the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo has goats to brush and a summer water play area, and older kids head for the elephants, lions, and reptile house.

💡 Tips
Tickets are about $17–20 online and more at the gate, check the website; January and February often have $1–8 special days. The grounds are hilly, so bring a stroller or rent a wagon; in summer, be there at the 9am opening and leave by noon.
