In April the garden's 200-plus cherry trees bloom variety by variety, and the double rows of big trees on Cherry Esplanade rain pink petals; the Sakura Matsuri on the final weekend brings taiko drums, dance and crowds in kimono, and kids can't look away.

💡 Tips
The garden's website has a day-by-day CherryWatch bloom map; Sakura Matsuri weekend needs advance tickets and is very crowded, so with a 2-year-old a weekday is a more comfortable way to see the blossoms.
