From mid-November to early January the Bronx Zoo turns into a zoo of lights after dark: hundreds of life-size animal lanterns, live ice carving, a carousel and some indoor animal houses open; the most spectacular Christmas lights in New York.

💡 Tips
Tickets are about $35–45 per person, timed and bought online; the 5pm weekend slot suits little kids best, and you are home by 7. It is cold, so wear one more layer than you would by day.
