The only beach in the Bronx, a 1-mile crescent of man-made sand from the Robert Moses era, with shallow water and small waves, a wide promenade and playground behind it, and salt marsh and woodland trails in Pelham Bay Park next door.

💡 Tips
Weekend afternoons are very lively (music, barbecues); for quiet, go in the morning or walk to the north end. The bus connection is a bit of a hassle; it is 35 minutes by car.
