The biggest playground between Bethesda and Rockville, with wooden towers and slide clusters tucked under big trees that keep it cool even in summer; on weekends spring through fall a miniature train ($) runs through the woods, there's an indoor ice rink next door in winter, and the free Locust Grove Nature Center has small animals.

💡 Tips
The train usually runs April through October, mostly weekends; check the website for times. The playground has separate toddler and big-kid areas. The Cabin John Trail heads south from the lot as a gentle forest path.
