The DuPage forest preserves' living history farm, where staff in 1890s clothes actually do the work: shearing sheep, blacksmithing, harvesting corn, making Christmas decorations. Sheep, chickens, and the big draft horses are all out to see, and there's no admission.

💡 Tips
Open Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday), with farmhouse tours at set times. Sheep-shearing day in spring, the fall harvest, and the old-fashioned Christmas in December are the most fun. Gravel and grass underfoot, fine with a stroller.
