The highest hill in DuPage County is actually an old landfill: 150-foot Mount Hoy opens for sleds and snow tubes once there's enough snow, and a run down takes a few dozen seconds — the biggest hill in a western-suburb kid's memory. Watch the ice fishing on Silver Lake next door in winter.

💡 Tips
Sledding is allowed only with 3 inches or more of snow and when the preserve announces it's open (check the website or social media); tube rentals on weekends (about $5–10), or bring your own sled. The hill is tall, so kids under 5 ride with an adult.
