On evenings from mid-November to early January, the Dallas Zoo's paths are strung with more than a million lights and giant animal lanterns, plus a light tunnel and color-changing trees, with some of the nocturnal animal houses open — a lap around feels like a glowing storybook zoo.

💡 Tips
Timed tickets are about $20, buy online, check the website; weekend evenings sell out, so book early. Gates open around 5:30pm, and the earliest arrivals get the thinnest crowds. Dress warm and bring a stroller; the lights ticket is separate from daytime admission.
