The official Bluebonnet City of Texas: in April, 40 miles of country roads and pastures are carpeted in blue, and setting your kid down in a field of bluebonnets for a photo is an annual ritual for every Texas family; the bluebonnet festival is the third weekend of April.

💡 Tips
Bloom usually runs from early April to the end of the month; check the Ennis website's weekly bloom reports and route map before heading out. Most fields are private ranchland, so shoot from the roadside; pull fully off the road and watch for fire ants and snakes. Morning has the best light and temperatures.
