The Schaumburg Park District's 135-acre preserve: a nature center with exhibits and a bird-viewing window, 3 miles of flat gravel trail through prairie, ponds, and oak woods, Bison's Bluff nature playground at one end and the 1880s Volkening farm at the other — enough to fill a whole day.

💡 Tips
Completely flat and fine with a stroller. The nature center is closed Monday (check the website); the farm is open April through October. One of the best free outings with kids in the northwest suburbs.
