You don't have to do the whole 9.5-mile loop around Argonne National Laboratory: a few minutes' walk from the Bluff Rd lot gets you to the little waterfall at Rocky Glen, where water rushes over a 1930s stone dam and kids can flip rocks in the creek looking for crayfish.

💡 Tips

The stretch to the falls is a dirt path with roots, so use a carrier; there are rocks to sit on along Sawmill Creek. The main loop is wide gravel, good for bikes and jogging strollers.
