For 24 days from late September to mid-October, Fair Park becomes the biggest state fair in the country: the 55-foot Big Tex, the Texas Star Ferris wheel, pig races, farm animals to pet, and the free Little Hands on the Farm game for toddlers, with fried food until you can't walk.

💡 Tips
Admission is about $20–25 for adults and half that for kids, buy online, check the website; food and rides all run on coupons. Go on a weekday or right at opening on a weekend, when it's emptier and cooler; after 2pm a 2-year-old is pretty much done. Bring a stroller, water, and cash.
