The zoo, the Museum District and a little train all fit into these 445 acres: the Buddy Carruth Playground for All Children has something for toddlers through big kids, you can rent pedal boats on McGovern Lake, feed ducks and watch turtles by the Reflection Pool, and on summer nights Miller Outdoor Theatre has free shows.

💡 Tips
On weekends, arrive before 9am to find a spot, or park at a Museum District METRORail station and ride one stop in, which kids love anyway. Pedal boats are about $10–15 per half hour and the line is long. Bring a picnic to eat by the Reflection Pool.
