The Houston Zoo's evening event from mid-November to early January: hundreds of thousands of lights shaped into animals, tunnels and moving light shows along a slow stroller route. The 2-year-old's mouth hangs open the whole way, the 7-year-old hunts for their favorite animal lights, and there's hot chocolate and a carousel ride.

💡 Tips
Tickets are about $20–25 and vary by date; weekends often sell out, so buy online ahead (check the website). Weekdays and the first entry time are least crowded. Most animals are asleep, so don't expect to see live ones.
