A strawberry farm south of Houston run by the same family for generations: from late January to April the strawberries ripen, entry is free and you pay by the basket, and the rows are low enough that a 2-year-old can squat and pick. Strawberry pie and fried pies from the farm store are the reward on the way home, and in fall the same fields become a pumpkin patch and corn maze.

💡 Tips
Check Facebook or the website for opening days and berry conditions; fields often get picked clean by weekend afternoons, so arrive before 10am. Wear shoes that can get dirty, and leave the stroller, since it won't fit in the fields. Bring sunscreen and water. The October Fall Festival has separate admission.
