A lone mountain rising abruptly from the Montgomery County flatlands. From the East View lot it's 0.25 mile of stone steps to the summit, where big rocks look out over the whole Frederick valley; kids 5 and up feel very accomplished reaching the top, and the fall color is the best in the county.

💡 Tips
The Green Trail to the summit is short but steep with lots of stone steps, so use a carrier, not a stroller; you can also just enjoy the view from the overlook at the lot. No water on the mountain, bring your own. On the way down, stop at the Comus Inn for sunset or the lawn at Sugarloaf winery in Dickerson.
