The elk in Elk Grove Village's name live here: a small herd in a fenced pasture you can watch from the railing. The preserve's 8-mile paved loop is as flat as a road, so strollers, balance bikes, and scooters all work, and there are boat rentals on the lake in summer.

💡 Tips

The elk are most active at dawn and dusk and tend to lie far off during the day, so bring binoculars. The loop has lots of cyclists, so keep an eye on kids running on the path. Plenty of lots, but they fill on weekends.
