An amusement pier reaching more than 1,000 feet into the Gulf, with the Ferris wheel, carousel, little planes and a roller coaster built right over the waves. A 2-year-old can only ride a few things but is thrilled just watching, a tall-enough 7-year-old can do most of it, and when the lights come on at dusk it's Galveston's most postcard-worthy moment.

💡 Tips
An all-day ride pass is about $30–40, and pier admission without rides is about $12 (check the website). Open daily in summer, weekends only in spring and fall. The pier is brutally hot at midday, so go after 4pm. Lots of height requirements, so check the chart on the website first.
