Houston's must-see dinosaur museum: the Morian Hall of Paleontology poses dozens of dinosaur and giant mammal skeletons mid-chase, the Cockrell Butterfly Center is a three-story tropical rainforest where thousands of butterflies land on heads and shoulders, and there's a planetarium plus gems and minerals to touch. A full day of science for a 7-year-old.

💡 Tips
Permanent exhibits are about $25 for adults and $16 for kids, with separate tickets for the butterfly center and planetarium (check the website); there's a free window on Thursday afternoons (crowded). For a 2-year-old, heading straight to the butterflies and dinosaurs is plenty, and strollers are welcome.
