Two big hangars at Ellington Airport packed with vintage aircraft that still fly: B-17 and B-25 bombers and a row of WWII fighters, a few of which you can climb into. The 7-year-old can't get enough of the flight simulators, and through the windows you can watch real planes take off and land on the runway next door. Cheaper and much more relaxed than Space Center.

💡 Tips
Admission is about $15 for adults, half price for kids (check the website); simulators cost extra. Some weekends offer paid rides in vintage planes, and just watching them take off is a thrill. About 20 minutes for Pearland and Clear Lake families.
