Houston's only light-rail line, the Red Line, links the Museum District, Hermann Park, the zoo and downtown: grab a day pass and ride from Museum District station to Downtown, watching the towers and intersection traffic lights out the window, then walk to Discovery Green. It's both the day's transportation and an outing in itself.

💡 Tips
About $1.25 one way or $3 for a day pass, and little kids ride free (check the website for age rules); buy at the platform machines or use the app. Weekend trains run every 12–20 minutes, and you don't need to fold the stroller on board.
