This small county park across from Surfside is the easiest way to take toddlers to the beach: a boardwalk leads from the parking lot to the sand, with covered picnic pavilions, a playground, a fishing pier, showers and restrooms. The beach slopes gently and is uncrowded, so even a 2-year-old can play on their own all afternoon.

💡 Tips
Past Surfside, follow FM 1495 over the bridge to Quintana. Spring and fall are birding season, and the park has a birding trail. No lifeguards.
