Baby-friendly outings (ages 0–1) around Dallas's northern suburbs
Going out with a baby is half for the grown-ups: a flat path for the stroller, a place to sit and feed, and something to look at while the baby sleeps. Every place here gets a perfect 5 for babies under one, and all of them are stroller-friendly with air conditioning or shade nearby.
The library children's areas in Plano, Frisco, Richardson and Allen are spacious and run baby storytimes; Frisco's new library is especially beautiful. For a walk, the lake loops at Bob Woodruff, Breckinridge and Towne Lake are quiet and smooth, and the lawn at the Dallas Arboretum is a lovely spot to feed a baby overlooking the lake. In summer, head to NorthPark Center: free, with sculptures, a duck pond and a children's library branch on the ground floor. In December, push the stroller through Vitruvian Lights and watch the baby stare at the trees.

💡 Good to know
- Baby storytimes are mostly on weekday mornings; check each city library's calendar for weekends.
- From June to September, outdoors only before 9am or after sunset. Fit the stroller with a sunshade and a clip-on fan, and cool the car seat before putting the baby in.
