Things to do with kids in Katy
Old Katy might as well have been designed for toddlers: the free indoor pool, fishing lake and mini golf at Mary Jo Peckham Park, with the Katy Play Station wooden castle and the Katy Branch library across the street, make a morning you can walk.
Fifteen minutes south, the Cinco Ranch library has one of the biggest Chinese picture-book collections in the Fort Bend system. In summer, Typhoon Texas next to Katy Mills; in fall, Dewberry Farm in Brookshire 15 minutes west for pumpkins; in spring, strawberries at Blessington Farms in Simonton. For a walk, the paved trail along Buffalo Bayou at Terry Hershey Park, or the free bison and peacocks at Bear Creek Pioneers Park.
