Kid-friendly farms around Houston
Houston is ringed by countryside, and the farm park is this city's specialty with kids: feed goats, ride a pony, milk a cow, take a hayride and a little train, and in summer splash in a pool, all on one ticket that lasts a full day.
Thirty minutes west of Sugar Land and Katy, Blessington Farms does strawberries in spring and pumpkins in fall, and the long slides and sandboxes of Farm Funland are popular year-round. To the north, Old MacDonald's Farm in Humble and Oil Ranch in Hockley are the everything farms, with pony rides, trains, cow milking and swimming pools; 7 Acre Wood in Conroe is almost all in the shade. The seasonal strawberry fields at Froberg's and the pumpkin patch at Dewberry Farm are in their own seasonal guides.

💡 Good to know
- Most farms open only on weekends and school holidays, and may close during the hottest weeks of summer; check the calendar before you go.
- Bring hand sanitizer, shoes that can get dirty and a change of clothes. Go in the morning, when the animals are hungry and come to the fence.
